About Me

The best compliment that can be paid after any hands-on preview is that it leaves you wanting more. Black Myth: Wukong did that in all the best ways. I wanted to see more of the evocative world that lay ahead, improve my skills and challenge some of the optional bosses I saw but quickly trounced me, and to experience how the combat evolves over time. Just this small taste was enough to prove that the initial promise of Black Myth: Wukong – a beautiful game with impressive combat – was not a trick. This is the real deal and it’s easily one of my most anticipated games releasing in the latter part of 20

Sun Wukong’s staff is his main offensive weapon, capable of flashy combos with a press of the light attack button. Holding the heavy attack button can charge up a stronger attack that, in its basic form, has Wukong slamming the staff down on an enemy. As players mix up their combos and charged attacks, they will fill up a focus meter and eventually earn a focus point. These points can be spent on an even more damaging attack that can be timed at the end of a combo as a pseudo-finis

One intriguing part of protagonist Wukong's personal arsenal is his staff. This is pulled directly from Journey to the West , as the hero Wukong wields a magical staff that can extend and shrink, making it an incredibly useful tool. Black Myth: Wukong embracing Ancient Chinese myth has given the game plenty of material to work with, and it will be fascinating to see how the game uses these bits of myth and legend, like Wukong's staff, as essential pieces in the gamep

After years of mystery, Black Myth: Wukong is really taking shape. Both the public, and fellow critics, have had almost universal praise for the game that's set to release in 2024 . Now if I could just get my hands on i

black myth wukong news|Https://blackmythwukongfans.com/ Myth: Wukong launches August 19, and I expect it won’t take long before the hardcore nerds start cooking up some impossible challenges for it. It’s too bad the banana thing has already been done, but I’m sure someone will find a way to make this brutally difficult game somehow even more masochistic. Maybe not as masochistic as letting the developers watch you struggle for two hours straight, but still pretty hard.

Black Myth: Wukong was first seen nearly four years ago with a 13-minute pre-alpha gameplay video, and since then the game has maintained a steady course of popularity throughout development. Created by Chinese developer and publisher Game Science, Black Myth: Wukong is a narrative Soulsike RPG based loosely on a novel called Journey to the West , in which players take the role of a Monkey soldier inspired by Sun Wukong, or the Monkey King. As the "Destined One," players will journey across vast landscapes inspired by Chinese mythology, wielding powerful weapons and magic as they battle through fierce enem

Black Myth: Wukong was a standout at Gamescom this year. Public queues regularly exceeded a four-hour wait, when they weren't closed due to reaching capacity, and there was a considerable buzz on the show floor. Brave people camped out at the booth with a sandwich in hand, sat on a camping chair, slowly counting down the hours until they got to play Game Science's upcoming Chinese Mythology-focused Soulsl

Combat has a very different flow from what you might be used to in this genre. Activating your light attack unleashes a flurry of quick, acrobatic hits that combo together several times before ending in a heavy finisher. The heavy attack (the default is a long-range, overhead slam) needs to be charged up before it can be used, either by holding the heavy attack button for a few seconds, or landing consecutive light attacks until you store a charge that you can unleash later on. The stamina gauge limits how much you can attack and dodge, though, so you can't just spam light attacks over and over. Even against weak enemies, fights require a lot of patience. It's all about building up your power and waiting for the right moment to unleash a string of devastating attacks on your opponent.

As a filthy casual, I can confirm that Black Myth is not going to be a beginner-friendly entry point to the genre, but it’s also easy to see this is the real deal - something that transcends the label of ‘Dark Souls clone’ and stands on its own as a competent, well-designed action RPG. The only criticisms I have are about the generic forest environments that, while beautiful, don’t leave much room for exploration, nor do they inspire the imagination the way Bloodborne’s Yarnham or even Lies of P’s Krat do. This is just the game’s intro though, so I anticipate there’s a lot more to see.

The trailers for Black Myth: Wukong have confirmed that cloud traversal will play some sort of role in the game. To what extent cloud traversal will play is unclear, but it must play a decent-sized role for it to be featured in the trailer. Cloud traversal is another exciting feature Black Myth: Wukong has taken from Journey to the West , further demonstrating that the game seems to be staying pretty close to its source mater
